What is Yoga?
Yoga is an ancient discipline created thousands of years ago in India. The practice of yoga uses elements of the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of a person to create and maintain peace, harmony, and balance within themselves. The physical practice of yoga is called “Asana,” and it helps to release tension and toxicity within the body. Yoga is very beneficial and can be used in all aspects of a person’s life.
The physical practice of yoga (asana) helps to nourish the cells of the body, massage internal organs, increase strength and flexibility, improves and maintains digestion, and absorption of nutrients within the body. The breath work and mindfulness (meditation) aspect of yoga help a person to calm the mind, reduce stress and anxiety, and create space allowing for healing and contentment within the individual.
